Just Add Ink Challenge #304

I am really enjoying popping over to different challenges to check them out.
This one is the Just Add Ink Challenge and as soon as I saw it I fell in love with the colours!! They have said on their page just find what inspires you and use that as the starting point of your project - the colours, patterns and textures or elements within.

This is the challenge

Definately the colours that inspired me for this one..

This is my card I am so loving it, I think I might make a few more with a Birthday sentiment as well.
I love colour especially on white with the black background it certainly does pop!
A simple but effective card for you with masking, one of my favourite techniques.

Unfortunately I was too late to submit this but it got me creating so I am happy with that.

Alisa's build a Card Challenge number 2

Hi there and welcome to my blog.
The very talented Alisa Tilsner has set a second build a card challenge for us.
Each day for 4 days this time she has given us some instructions.
Here they are

Instruction 1

We're going to work from the ground up this time. This round, I'll let you just position your layers and you can glue them down at the end.
1. Choose 2 colours to work with, and a DSP.
2. Create your card base, in portrait orientation, a top folding card will be best - you can choose to sponge around the card base if you like with matching ink.
3. Cut a Layer from your DSP and position it on your card base, your layer should be the same width as your card base, but not as tall.

Instruction 2

1. From your second colour of card, cut a tall rectangle layer and position it to the left hand side of your card. You may like to sponge the edges with matching ink.
2. From your first colour (same as your card base), cut a shorter, fatter rectangle than the second colour. Emboss this piece with your big shot and embossing folder. You may also like to sponge this with matching ink. Position this piece to the right of the card front.

Instruction 3

1. At this stage, you will need to glue down your layers.
2. Tie a piece of ribbon or twine around the card front, knot to the right hand side of the card
3. Chose an image to stamp, colour and cut out.

Instruction 4

1. Use dimensionals to adhere your stamped image to the card front.
2. Add any bling to your stamped image or card front.
3. Add a sentiment if you like ( my original didn't have one)

In the comments - Show us your finished card

I apologize for the picture quality of the instruction pics they were taken on my phone.
I have to add a sentiment as it doesn't look completed.

This one turned out really lovely
What do we all think of my new watermark??? Pretty nice hey?

Global Design Project #GDP029

Hi and welcome to my blog.
These challenges are great.
This weeks challenge is a colour one - Thankyou to Bruno for these colours love it!!

I thought it is hard to make man/male cards so I thought that I would use them for this.

Men are pretty hard to make cards for!!

I love the brightness of the Tangelo on the Bermuda it just pops!!
I really like doing repetitive stamping on backgrounds as this just ties
the card together without alot of blank colour.

  • Stamps: Guy Greetings
  • Ink: Early Espresso
  • Card: Whisper White, Tangelo Twist, Bermuda Bay and Early Espresso
  • Tools: Triple Banner punch, Lots of Labels Framelits & Stylish Stripes with Bigshot

Alisa's Challenge

Hi there and welcome to my blog.
The very talented Alisa Tilsner has set a build a card challenge for us.
Each day for 5 days she has given us an instruction.
Here they are

Instruction 1 - 18th March
Choose an image that you can stamp and cut out. It may be an outline stamp that you can colour, or a solid image to stamp in a colour.
Cut out your image and set aside for the moment.
Use colours in pink, yellow and green tones.

Here is how I interpreted it

Instruction 2 - 19th March
Choose a card base colour in either pink, yellow or green tones. Being SU we want it all matchy matchy, so use one of the colours you've used in your stamped image.
The base can be any size you like, square or rectangle, landscape or portrait.
Adhere a piece of card to the card front. This panel should sit flush with the top and bottom of the card front. This will be the first layer, keep in mind there will be more layers. This piece of card should be pink, yellow or green, but also be different to the card base.

Again what I did

Instruction 3 - 20th March
Take a piece of card in pink, yellow or green. Use the colour you haven't used yet. This piece of card will sit flush with the top of the card front, yet be smaller than your first layer. Set it aside for moment.
Cut 2 small banners - one in the same colour as your card base, the other from a pattern paper. These banners can be the same size or different sizes.
Adhere the two banners to the top left hand corner of the card you set aside.
Use dimensionals to adhere this panel to the card front, flush with the top.

My card is slowly coming along

Instruction 4 - 21st March
Using the same pattern paper as the banner, cut a strip and adhere it to the bottom of the card.
Using dimensionals, adhere your stamped image to the card front.

Instruction 5 - 22nd March
Time to finish our card.
Stamp a thin sentiment onto card and trim to suit. Adhere it either below your stamped image or where it best fits, with dimensionals.
Add a row of bling of your choice under the sentiment. Add any bling to the banners.

Thats it!! Here is my finished card :-)

I hope Alisa does alot more of these challenges as I really enjoyed this.

  • Ink: Mint Macaron, So Saffron, Blushing Bride
  • Card: Blushing Bride, Whisper White, Birthday Bouquet DSP, So Saffron
