The Artful Stampers Blog Hop Challenge 87

Welcome from the very talented Tamsin's awesome work.

http://richesstitches.blogspot.com.au/2015/03/the-artful-stampers-blog-hop-22.html

Hmmm what stampset to use???
Its just too hard there are so many beautiful sets going......

I started making a communion card as my niece did her first holy communion this weekend but silly me realized I had grabbed a set that retired last year -grrrrr

Back to the drawing board

Out came "I think You're Great"

I love the brightness of this card. Sadly my favourite colour Blackberry Bliss alongside Tangelo Twist are retiring as well as the stampset and the 2 1/2 inch punch.

I used the ribbon which has already retired but it sets this card off with a bit of dimension.

  • Stamps: I Think You're Great
  • Ink:  Tangelo Twist and Blackberry Bliss
  • Card: Whisper White, Tangelo Twist and Blackberry Bliss
  • Tools: 2 1/2" and 1 3/4"Punches
  • Embellishments:  Dimensionals & Tangelo Twist Ribbon

Next on the hop is  Leah
Lets see what she has been up to this week!

I thought I might be different and use Swirly Birds (Again for about the 3rd blog post nearly in a row) lol

  • Ink:  Pool Party, Perfect Plum, Basic Black and Calypso Coral
  • Card: Whisper White, Calypso Coral and Bermuda Bay
  • Tools: Scribbles and Swirls thinlits with the bigshot and Duet Banner & Tree Builder Punches

Cas(e) this sketch #172

I have a new challenge this week
Cas(e) this sketch

Its very pretty

I thought I might use some pretty dsp as the main focal point in this challenge
Here is what I made with it

The DSP (Designer Series Paper) had its own shim to it so I thought it was perfect to use on its own.
Simple works out just lovely and these colours work so beautifully together.

A colour combo week again

I had a bit of a think about these colours and pulled out a couple of upcoming stampsets mixed in with a current set on my card

Global Design Project #GDP035

This weeks Global Design Project theme is Project Life

Eeeeeekkkk!!

I am a cardmaker... i need to do so much more in the way of scrapbooking.
My older sister is the one who is the scrapper and she is so very good at it!

We recently had a photoshoot in Busselton with a good friend of ours and this was the result...
I am waiting on the disk for the original photos so I can replace them once I get it as these are just the proof images.

I chose the Moments Like These Cards to use but swapped out the Watermelon Wonder and added Peekaboo Peach to tie in with the photos

Each page separate

The little panel in the bottom right fitted the swirl just perfectly so I punched out the picture of my husband and I to pop on top.

I am really really proud with how it worked out......
Might have to get into more scrapping and project life... I have a 3 month trip from last year to do.

  • Card: Moments Like These Card Collection  with Peekaboo Peach Cardstock.
  • Tools: New Swirly Scribbles Thinlits Dies with the Bigshot, 2" circle punch
  • Embellishments:  Sequins, Paperclip, sticker sheet and washi tape from the Moments Like These Accessory Pack
  • #GDP035

The Artful Stampers Blog Hop Challenge 84

Welcome from Anna's  pretty creation.

http://richesstitches.blogspot.com.au/2015/03/the-artful-stampers-blog-hop-22.html

A theme this week - watercolour

Now for me this is a bit of a challenge as I am not all that good with watercolour

I pulled out my watercolour paper and this is what i did

I cut the butterfly from a piece of whisper white (or any scrap paper) to form a mask on the watercolour paper.
Dropping water on the butterfly I slowly added colour starting from the Daffodil at the bottom and working up to the Tangelo then Melon adding a little darker colour as I went.
When it was dry I then swished my aqua pen over the paper again and placed down some Bermuda Bay ink.
When the whole image was dry I then drew on the antennae and stamped the sentiment.
This was then adhered to the base card with dimensionals.

  • Stamps: Sentiment from B.Y.O.P
  • Ink:  Staz On, Melon Mambo, Tangelo Twist, Daffodil Delight and Bermuda Bay
  • Card: Whisper White & Watercolour
  • Tools: Bold Butterfly Framelits with the BigShot, aquapen & fine black Sharpie pen
  • Embellishments:  Dimensionals

Next on the hop is Annette.

This is it the end of the Occasions Catalogue and Annual Catalogue.
There are so many things retiring but they are making way for some super beautiful goodies in the next annual catalogue....

I made two cards with three retiring stampsets

This card has quite a bit retiring on it
Blackberry Bliss Cardstock
Bohemian DSP
(the blackberry bliss ribbon did retire last year but I couldn't resist it on this card)
Flowering Flourishes Stampset
 In this Together Stampset
and lastly Iridescent Ice Stampin' Emboss Powder

Retiring items on this card are
Zoo Babies Stampset
Decorative Dots Embossing Folder
2 3/8" scallop circle punch
and Word Window Punch

I am really sad about these and alot of other sets going but it is making way for more new and exciting stamps and accessories
