What Will You Stamp? WWYS105

Well here I am at What Will you Stamp Challenge 105 for my second week as part of the design team.
How exciting!!
I hope that you like what I can come up with for these awesome challenges.

This weeks challenge set is Balloon Builders

I must say I have this set but I don't think I have ever used it.... Time to crank it out

This card was not quite the card I originally wanted to make....
I saw the different stamps and thought hmmm I might make a clown with them
This is how it turned out.... I didn't like him very much so I made a butterfly with the stamps, the possibilities with this set are really endless.

The idea was there but he just didn't look right.

I went back to one of the first techniques that I learned - the Rock and Roll technique which is what I used on the wings of the butterfly.

  • Stamps: Balloon Builder
  • Ink:  Daffodil Delight, Tangerine Tango, Crumb Cake, Memento
  • Card: Whisper White, Tangerine Tango, Daffodil Delight and Basic Black
  • Tools: Layering Circles Framelits with the bigshot
  • Embellishments:  Dimensionals,  wink of stella and the gold ribbon from Saleabration

Colour INKspiration #04

Oh my goodness I have some exciting news!!
I am now proud to be a part of this amazing crew of extremely talented demonstrators.
I am still pinching myself.

What is Colour INKspiraton? – a Facebook based bi-monthly colour challenge.
Anyone with Facebook can join in.  You don’t need a blog and you don’t need to be a demonstrator.
I have joined in these challenges and love them as Colour challenges for me are actually a real challenge.
Click here to join the Facebook page which has over 1000 members and see what it’s all about.

Here’s some of the basic details about the challenge –
The Colour INKspiration Crew! consists of a team of talented Aussie and NZ Stampin’ Up! ® Demonstrators that create projects based on Pinterest inspired colour swatches.
Every second and fourth Wednesday of the month at 7 pm (AEDT), a new colour swatch will be uploaded to the Facebook Colour INKspiration Group and the Colour INKspiration Crew will get the ball rolling by providing inspiration for each challenge with a blog hop.
Then you have a 12 day period to upload your own creations using the colours provided.
If you have a blog, feel free to link back to it, but all entries will be via Facebook.  The design team will select 5 projects to be ‘design team picks’ and then the Facebook group will select an overall winner from this shortlist.

This is this weeks challenge colour swatch and it is so gorgeous.
(Remember you can also add neutrals to these colours which consist of White, Black, Vanilla, Crumb Cake, Kraft, Sahara Sand and Metallics )

My creation I did think about it for a few days and kept changing my mind on what I wanted to to.... These colours scream out floral so here we go.

Here is a pic so you can see the dimension of the card.

I had a totally different idea in my head and thought I would try this to see if it would work.
It most definitely did, I am super happy with it.

The base card was folded in 3 equal parts and the front panel scored in half and folded down to make the smaller mountain fold. The three flowers were the trickiest part as they were only cut to the fold to make them pop up. To do this I placed the top and base plates on my bigshot right on the crease when cutting the outside framelit from the flowers.
The coloured part of the flowers were all cut from the outside framelit and placed behind the flowers so the colour showed through the petals.
(I hope that this makes sense)
  • Stamps: Special Reason, The Sentiment from Sunshine Sayings and Gorgeous Grunge
  • Ink:  Crumb Cake, Crushed Curry and Elegant Eggplant
  • Card: Whisper White, Crumb Cake, Crushed Curry, Delightful Dijon and Elegant Eggplant
  • Tools: Stylish Stems & Botanical Builder Framelits and Petal Burst Textured Embossing folder with the Bigshot
  • Embelishments: Gold ribbon from Saleabration

If you go and check out Kelly's creation with these gorgeous colours I think you will love it as she never ceases to amaze. (I actually received her gorgeous card in the mail last week welcoming me to the crew- super lucky)

              What Will You Stamp? WWYS104

Well here I am at What Will You Stamp Challenge 104 and instead of entering the challenge or being a guest designer I am now part of the design team.
              How exciting!!
I hope that you like what I can come up with for these awesome challenges.

This weeks set is Lift Me Up ... very fitting as it was the set I presented with at Onstage in November in Brisbane. It is just gorgeous.

It has been a while since I made a box card and they are a bit of my specialty so here we are...

The side view to see the dimension

With this card I did something a little different. The largest framelit and the smaller pieced framelits that would normally go underneath it, I reversed so that the patterns showed on the top of the balloon as they seemed to get a bit "lost" behind the intricate balloon die.

The medium stamped Hot Air Balloon I sponge daubered the colour onto the stamp.

              • Stamps: Lift Me Up
              • Ink:  Night of Navy, Mint Macaron, Peekaboo Peach, Soft Suede and Watermelon Wonder
              • Card: Whisper White, Watermelon Wonder, Peekaboo Peach and the Carried Away DSP (free Saleabration item)
              • Tools: Up and Away Thinlits with the bigshot, sponge daubers
              • Embellishments:  Dimensionals and a touch of wink of stella

              What Will You Stamp? WWYS103

I am lucky to be a guest designer this week for

What Will You Stamp Challenge 103

My goodness this is one of my favourite sets from the Occasions Catalogue

I made a gorgeous card already with the baby on the moon and it has been a bit of a hit on pinterest so I thought with this challenge I would use the baby and the umbrella.

For this card I brayered the background with the sponge rollers and gradually changed the colours so it was darker to lighter.

The babies jumpsuit was paper pieced with the paper from the Carousel DSP stack so looked like a patterned onesie.

              • Stamps: Moon Baby & Lift Me Up
              • Ink:  Versamark, Pink Pirouette, Blushing Bride, Crushed Curry, Night of Navy, Tempting Turquoise, Pool Party and Soft Sky
              • Card: Whisper White, Crushed Curry, Shimmer White and Cupcakes and Carousel DSP stack
              • Tools: Sweet and Sassy framelits and Up & Away Thinlits with the bigshot and the Confetti Stars Border Punch
              • Embellishments:  Dimensionals, Silver embossing & silver ribbon from Saleabration

              CASEing the Catty 114

This is this weeks current Challenge

I was a bit slow this week as I was making a few other cards for donations and challenges.

This is what I made - I cased the glassine bag in the middle of the picture above.

I didn't have the clips or the red ribbon that is in the original picture so I used the thick white bakers twine and died it with the red ink and used the Project Life paper clip thinlits for the top of the card.
I actually changed up the blue for a bit darker blue as I like my cards a little more bold.

These challenges are so open to the imagination!
You can case the layout, the colours the stampsets, anything so what are you waiting for??

To look at the hop you can start with Rebecca and hop around from her challenge.

Or if you wish to join in the facebook challenge then request join the group -

              • Card: Whisper White, Sending Love DSP stack, Real Red, Crumb Cake, Gold Foil, Bermuda Bay and Glassine

              SUO Challenge #167 & Fab Friday #105

I thought that I would participate in a new challenge or two this week

The first challenge is SUO Challenges which is using Stampin' Up! products.
(I can most certainly do that!!)

The challenge (number #167) is "Valentines"

The second Challenge is Fab Friday and it is the most gorgeous sketch

So this is the third blog post in a row with a love or valentines style card.

Here is what I made combining the two challenges

I think its really lovely how it turned out.

I cut a heap of the border heart framelits from the 3 different coloured card, layered and joined them all together. with the Sweet and Sassy Framelits I cut the patterned heart and then the background heart slightly bigger than the first heart.
The saleabration ribbon was then rippled with glue dots to give it dimension and then stuck straight to the background which I had embossed with the Falling Petals embossing folder.
The Love You sentiment is from a set from the annual catalogue - Bloomin' Love and silly me forgot that the Banner actually co ordinates with the Large Numbers Framelits but I fussy cut it out.

              • Stamps: Bloomin'  Love
              • Ink:  Blushing Bride and Real Red
              • Card: Whisper White, Real Red, Blushing Bride, Pink pirouette and Silver Foil
              • Tools: Love Notes Framelits, Sweet and Sassy Framelits and Falling Petals Embossing Folder with the Bigshot
              • Embellishments:  Dimensionals & 3/8" Metallic Silver Ribbon (saleabration)
