Just Add Ink 487 #JAI487

Just Add Ink Challenge #487

This weeks challenge is

A sketch!
I haven't really blogged or made any cards since onstage. To be honest I really haven't felt like it. I had some awful family news the day after it and I haven't wanted to craft since.
My mother isn't very well and I am wanting everyone to keep her in your thoughts as she has a long, long journey ahead.

I received a box a few days ago and thought I really need to make one last card for 2019 and when I saw the sketch I thought it was just perfect for it.

and its a sneak peak for some new goodies coming in just over a week!

I think I really need to get myself back into the craft room a bit more and get creating.
That's what mum would want me to do!

  • Stamps: Honey Bee
  • Ink: - Memento
  • Card: Basic Black, Gold Foil, Gold Glimmer, Mango Melody, Whisper White, vellum and Golden Honey Specialty DSP (saleabration)
  • Tools: Stitched Shapes & Detailed Bee Dies with a die cutting machine
  • Embellishments:  Dimensionals, Peaceful Poppies Sequins and Champagne Mist Shimmery Paint

Onstage Local Perth November 2019

Wow what a wonderful day it was yesterday at onstage in Perth.
The whole day is a bit of a blur but it was awesome anyway!

Ok..... a week before we went away to Exmouth in the September/ October holidays, I received a phone call from Donna Williams at head office in Sydney asking me if I would like to present Jacque Williams 1 million CSV stampset that she designed when she reached her awesome milestone......

I instantly said yes!! (What was I thinking I said to myself no way will I ever present at onstage again!!) I obviously can't say no to her! I then went away for two weeks and had the most wonderful holiday.

It meant I really only had a couple of solid weeks to work on samples and what I was going to say before I snuck away for a quick holiday with hubby to Bali and a few days later my friend Vicki arrived from Brisbane the week before the event.
It was full on! I did have an awesome set which was so easy to work with!

That feeling of nervousness snuck in about halfway through the day and I thought oh my goodness I am going to be sick! Public speaking is my worst fear and now I was about to do it again for the second time in 3 years! Luckily I love the products so it was easy to talk about. I even changed up my little script and got a few laughs along the way. That made me feel a lot better and especially hearing the reactions to my cards made it all worthwhile.

I was really kicking myself as I forgot to take my digital camera to get pictures... I had some great demo friends who sent me theirs - thankyou to them all I am so grateful.

Here are a few

After the day I went out for dinner with a group of lovely demonstrators and was able to relax a little. I slept well last night.... and I may or may not have had a nana nap this afternoon.

Here are my actual samples

Beginner Style Card using one colour of a blend.

Casual Style Card with watercolouring on watercolour paper.

Avid Card open using both light and dark Stampin' Blends to get some depth in the image

Avid Card Closed

Onstage was about celebrating others and I made this card to celebrate my friend Denise on presenting for the first time yesterday.

 Pigment Sprinkles

Whitewash technique with water colouring.

Paper Piecing

Adding other stampsets such as A good man

Using our laser cut paper

Diorama Card

Black, White, Poppy Parade and some shimmer paint.

Here is my haul from the day and isn't the backpack amazing??

I was lucky as a few of my team came along and we all got to sit together.

Team INKYPINKS!!

I met so many more awesome people yesterday and I am so happy that I started this journey. If you would love to join my little team the Inkypinks and come along to the next onstage please contact me as I would love to hear from you.

Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop - November

Welcome to the monthly Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop.

This is the very first time that I have made a card for this blog hop and I hope to continue to make them as I love a little challenge.
This months theme is Christmas.

You are currently visiting Nicole Wilson from Perth in Western Australia.

My class ladies made this card as part of their stampastack on Friday night. It is super easy to make and the flagging on the end of each strip of DSP was just made with paper snips.

Tip - If you have a square punch you could also use a corner of it for your flagging.
  • Stamps: Perfectly Plaid
  • Ink: Shaded Spruce & Night of Navy
  • Card: Whisper White, Night of Navy & Wrapped in Plaid 6x6 DSP
  • Tools: Pine Tree Punch
  • Embellishments: Dimensionals and a Star from the Most Wonderful Time Bundle
I hope the project you have seen here today on my blog has inspired you.
Please see the list below and hop through all of the people to see all the lovely projects made for Christmas.
You don't want to miss any!

Hopefully I will see you very soon for another Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop!

What is Colour INKspiraton? – a Facebook based bi-monthly colour challenge.
Anyone with Facebook can join in.  You don’t need a blog and you don’t need to be a demonstrator.
I have joined in these challenges and love them as Colour challenges for me are actually a real challenge.
Click here to join the Facebook page which now has over 2000 members and see what it’s all about.

Here’s some of the basic details about the challenge –
The Colour INKspiration Crew! consists of a team of talented Aussie and NZ Stampin’ Up! ® Demonstrators that create projects based on Pinterest inspired colour swatches.
Every second and fourth Wednesday of the month at 7 pm (AEDT), a new colour swatch will be uploaded to the Facebook Colour INKspiration Group and the Colour INKspiration Crew will get the ball rolling by providing inspiration for each challenge with a blog hop.
Then you have a 12 day period to upload your own creations using the colours provided.
If you have a blog, feel free to link back to it, but all entries will be via Facebook.  The design team will select 5 projects to be ‘design team picks’ and then the Facebook group will select an overall winner from this shortlist.

Hello from Rose's project

I really love this colour combo together and I had the perfect stampset to use with it!
Perfect for man cards.

The brick folder and birch stampset are great on the background of this card and they don't detract from the main image.
The man and the little girl themselves are coloured in Stampin' Blends and the clothing that they are wearing is paper pieced in the colours of the challenge. I love how it turned out.
It reminds me of myself as a little girl (but my dad used to have curly hair now he is pretty bald lol)

Come on over and join us in this challenge, they are fun and awesome to do!

  • Stamps: Birch and a Good Man
  • Ink: Memento Black, Pacific Point and Balmy Blue
  • Card: Whisper White, Balmy Blue, Pear Pizzaz, Pacific Point and Merry Merlot
  • Tools: Stitched Nested Dies & Brick & Mortar Embossing Folder with a Die Cutting Machine as well as Ivory, Light Daffodil Delight and Bronze Stampin' Blends
  • Embellishments: Dimensional

Hello from Lou's page

This was my image that I found on pinterest! I love such bright vibrant colours...

Challenge accepted to use all these pretty colours...

This type of card is called a Dutch Fold Card and it is really easy to make. I adapted the instructions online that I saw to make this card out of A4 size cardstock.

I am really loving the Bloom and Grow Bundle and just by adding a couple of extra coloured leaves and flowers the image looks fuller on the black background of this card.

My class girls made this today too!

  • Stamps: Bloom & Grow
  • Ink: Memento Black, Gorgeous Grape and Mint Macaron
  • Card: Whisper White, Basic Black, Lovely Lipstick, Pineapple Punch and Coastal Cabana
  • Tools: Layering Oval Dies and Budding Blooms Dies with a Die Cutting Machine as well as Mint Macaron, Lovely Lipstick, Poppy Parade and Pineapple Punch Stampin' Blends
  • Embellishments: Dimensional
