Papercraft Crew #567 and Tic Tac Toe #tttc246

&

I'm on a bit of a roll making cards this fortnight, even though I have been so super busy.

The challenge this week is to make a floral card and with Tic Tac Toe it includes floral so again "two birds, one stone"

So the line I have used above is, Diagonally from the top left to bottom right, Flowers, Free (stamping) and Die Cuts.

I have used a new suite from the upcoming catalogue (avail May 1)

The die cuts are so pretty especially using the brand new glimmer paper. It is so much more stunning in real life!
This card I made for a family who sadly has just lost their little girl to brain cancer. Her birthday was coming up in May and there was a call out to flood her with as many cards as possible to make her final wish. I took a screenshot of the address with all intent to send a card to her but she sadly lost her battle on the weekend.

Mother's Day/ Gift Giving Crafting

As some of you are aware I now have a part time job as a disability support worker, hence not being able to craft as much as I used to :-(

Thats ok though I do dry to incorporate crafting into my work and to help our participants with their skills as well as their sense of achievement by creating a beautiful handmade product that they can either keep or give to someone as a gift.

I had an idea in my head I just had to get out...

This week I helped with making a wreath using some retired product as well as current. All the items used are Stampin' Up except the lights and the twine.

Lights turned off above

With the lights turned on.

I really am loving the way that this turned out and unfortunately I can not show pictures of our participants with their wreaths but they were pretty happy with their achievements.

And another reason you could make a wreath like this is for Anzac Day.
(Which coincidently is today)

Other things I have made with our lovely participants are cards for Mothers Day, Fathers Day, Wedding Anniversaries, Birthdays and Babies as well as paper beaded jewellery and keyrings.

This keyring above was made for a colour challenge (Colour inkspiration) quite some years ago but it is similar to what we've made at work.

We made Christmas Angels and Santas/ Gnomes just from finding pictures on Pinterest..

It can be challenging and time consuming making the samples and writing step by step tutorials with pictures so they can be followed but it is worth the end product and the endless smiles.

Colour INKspiration 164 #CI164

Welcome to Colour Inkspiration!

What is Colour INKspiraton? – a Facebook based bi-monthly colour challenge.
Anyone with Facebook can join in.  You don’t need a blog and you don’t need to be a demonstrator.
I have joined in these challenges and love them as Colour challenges for me are actually a real challenge.
Click here to join the Facebook page which now has over 2900 members and see what it’s all about.

Here’s some of the basic details about the challenge –
The Colour INKspiration Crew! consists of a team of talented Aussie and NZ Stampin’ Up! ® Demonstrators that create projects based on Pinterest inspired colour swatches.
Every second and fourth Wednesday of the month at 7 pm (AEDT), a new colour swatch will be uploaded to the Facebook Colour INKspiration Group and the Colour INKspiration Crew will get the ball rolling by providing inspiration for each challenge with a post on their blogs.
Then you have a 12 day period to upload your own creations using the colours provided.

If you have a blog, feel free to link back to it, but all entries will be via Facebook.  The design team will select 5 projects to be ‘design team picks’ and then the Facebook group will select an overall winner from this shortlist.

Colour INKspiration 164

This has to be my most favourite group of incolours especially Starry Sky!
I am super sad to see them leaving us....

I love this gorgeous Sea Turtle set and I am very happy it is carrying over to the new annual catalogue.
It works perfectly with these colours. I love that the stamps are reversable and that they can stamp a solid background image.
I love a bit of fussy cutting so the main Turtle, big starfish, one of the reeds and the for you sentiment have all been fussy cut. The background was also embossed for a bit of texture. It makes for a simple yet effective card.
The starfish remind me of some gorgeous starfish we saw on our honeymoon...... many many years ago in Vanuatu.

What will you create with these gorgeous colours?
I can't wait to see what you come up with!
Remember to upload your cards to our facebook group here!

  • Stamps: Sea Turtle and sentiment from Friends are like Seashells
  • Ink: Tahitian Tide, Parakeet Party, Starry Sky, Orchard Oasis and Sweet Sorbet
  • Card: Basic White, Starry Sky and Basic Black
  • Tools: Timeworn Type with a Stampin' Cut n Emboss Machine
  • Embellishments: - Dimensionals and Wink of Stella

Papercraft Crew #566 and Tic Tac Toe #tttc245

&

It's been a little while since I participated in a Paper Craft Crew Challenge and I have been really missing creating lately. I had a card class last night and we used the Flowering Zinnias suite which is an online exclusive item with Stampin' Up!

The challenge this week is to make a fun fold card.
I decided to make a type of twisted fun fold card using the suite.

I have just realized that this card also fits in with the theme on the Tic Tac Toe card challenge too!! Bonus!!

So the line I have used above is, it's a Square Card, Die Cut (the orange square) and it has dry Embossing on it!!

To look at from the front it looks like any normal square card.

Partially opened

Fully Opened - this was really hard to photograph!!

A little bit of fussy cutting for the flowers and adding one of them to the card with dimensionals really makes this pop! Especially with the gorgeous Embossing folder and the intricate design on it for the background of the front of the card.
You can utilize any flowers on DSP that are on the edge and fussy cut them to go on the inside edge of the card to use up and not waste any pretty paper.
What can I say, the sentiment stamped in versamark and white embossed on the basic black card stock really stands out on the vibrant colours of this funky card.

  • Stamps: Sentiment from Simply Zinnia
  • Ink: Versamark
  • Card: Basic White, Basic Black, Melon Mambo and Flowering Zinnias DSP
  • Tools: Zinnia 3D embossing folder & Stylish Shapes Dies with a Die Cutting/ Embossing Machine, White embossing powder and a heat tool
  • Embellishments: Dimensionals and Adhesive backed Shiny Sequins
