Social Stamping - War and Peace

Hello and welcome to the weekly Social Stamping Blog Hop with so many talented crafters around the world joining in.
My friend Kelly Kent is the mastermind behind this and she put the group together to share our creations in a time where we are all social distancing and many are in isolation. It is a very unnerving time for a lot of people as some have medical issues and loved ones who are compromised and can not afford to get ill. Creating is my sanity at the moment as I am a pretty social person and not being able to meet friends just at the coffee shop or have a card class is really hard.

I went to Busselton to visit my mum this week and anyone who lives in WA would know you can not get through the regional borders without a valid reason.. Lucky I have a letter from her doctor... on my way home I did swing past Kelly's house and if you are following these weekly hops you would have known about her gorgeous rainbow butterfly window display.
Well I can tell you it is stunning in real life!

So here is the next theme that Kelly has set for us and it is "War and Peace"

You have come from Chantell's Blog

Today in the South Pacific is ANZAC Day.
Although we couldn't go to dawn services in Australia because of social distancing that has been put in place we all could pay our respects at the end of our driveways this morning at 6am.
It was pelting down when we went to go outside, so we stayed in our garage with our candles and listened to the service on my hubbies phone. I think my daughter is tone deaf as I was quietly chuckling to myself listening to her sing Advance Australia Fair very very off key.....
We did have a couple of other neighbours standing outside also paying their respects in our culdesac which was really nice to see.

So, back to the card, I thought that poppies and a wreath were the perfect card for todays hop don't you? I used the sequins for the black centres of the poppies to add a bit more dimension to the card.
  • Stamps: Painted Poppies and Peaceful Moments

  2. Stunning colouring. Love the sequins in the centre. And I love the dark background too - it really shows off the poppies to perfection.

  3. Beautiful card. Great minds think alike again. We’ve made similar cards a few times now. I love the black behind the poppies. It really makes them stand out.

  4. A great way to share your celebration of Anzac Day Nicole, wish I had known you were swinging past Kelly's place and I would have come and blown kisses from 1.5 metres away 🥰

  5. The contrast with the black really makes the poppy pop. I have to sympathise with your daughter-me too!

  8. Love your card Nicole, it's absolutely stunning! We did the same, at our letterbox at 6am with the radio on via my cellphone and the neighbours congregated at their letterboxes in our cul-de-sac - I didn't attempt to sing I'm with your daughter x
