Colour INKspiration 172 #CI172

Welcome to Colour Inkspiration!

What is Colour INKspiraton? – a Facebook based bi-monthly colour challenge.
Anyone with Facebook can join in.  You don’t need a blog and you don’t need to be a demonstrator.
I have joined in these challenges and love them as Colour challenges for me are actually a real challenge.
Click here to join the Facebook page which now has over 3000 members and see what it’s all about.

Here’s some of the basic details about the challenge –
The Colour INKspiration Crew! consists of a team of talented Aussie and NZ Stampin’ Up! ® Demonstrators that create projects based on Pinterest inspired colour swatches.
Every second and fourth Wednesday of the month at 7 pm (AEDT), a new colour swatch will be uploaded to the Facebook Colour INKspiration Group and the Colour INKspiration Crew will get the ball rolling by providing inspiration for each challenge with a post on their blogs.
Then you have a 12 day period to upload your own creations using the colours provided.

If you have a blog, feel free to link back to it, but all entries will be via Facebook.  The design team will select 5 projects to be ‘design team picks’ and then the Facebook group will select an overall winner from this shortlist.

To be honest with you all, these are not colours I would normally choose but it was a challenge for me to use them.

I did a card class using the gorgeous Layers of Beauty stencils as the set was still on my desk from the last Colour INKspiration challenge that I participated in, so I thought I would replicate the card in these colours and I am pleasantly surprised with the outcome.

I was going to stamp the outline but forgot, oh well still looks good and it works well with only two inkpads used. Tone on tone was done with the masks as each layer was darker than the one before to get the depth of the flowers and leaves.

Here is the card I did for class.

If you are interested in joining in on this great challenge.
Remember to upload your cards to our facebook group here!

This you would think should be an easy one.... But my favourite colours change all the time!!

I picked 3 gorgeous colours that work so well together for this card.

This challenge also works in with the Global Design Project Challenge of using circles.

So very pretty.
The colours I chose for this card were Shy Shamrock, Azure Afternoon and Petuna Pop!
Beautiful.... The technique I used was the Floating frames technique using the amazing Spotlight on Nature Dies... Stunning!

I already have someone to give this to as well and I know she will appreciate it.

Love blues! They are one of my most favourite colours!

I instantly had an idea using these colours and it married perfectly in with the timing of my daughters 14th birthday (which is tomorrow)!

I love this gorgeous Sea Turtle set and I have used it now on a few cards.
I really love how you can flip the stamp over for a solid image (stamped off)

Global Design Project 451 #GDP451

I have been playing with a new bundle a little bit lately and it is the Sketched Butterflies bundle. My daughter has a couple of birthdays coming up so I made one of her friends a card.... and her favourite colour is pink!!

Unfortunately I also made a card for a very dear friend of mine who lost her husband recently.

I used some water colouring for the background as well as the butterfly on watercolour paper for a simple but very effective look to the card.

Both Cards
  • Stamps: Sketched Butterflies, Country Birdhouse
  • Ink: Memento Black, Pretty in Pink, Petunia Pop, Summer Splash
  • Card: Watercolour, Basic White, Pretty In Pink, Countryside Rose DSP (Demo only earned paper)
  • Tools: Sketched Butterflies Dies, Spotlight on Nature Dies as well as Dotted Circles embossing folder with a Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine, Melon Mambo & Pretty in Pink Stampin Blends, Water Painters
  • Embellishments: Dimensionals, 2024-2026 In Colour Resin Dots, Black Stampin' Write Marker

Global Design Project 447 #GDP447

I made a card to showcase with my class ladies last month using some retired paper but the dies are in the annual catalogue.
I am a bit of a 3d cardmaker and try to incorporate this into my classes each month.
Here is what I came up with...

Standing Tiered Accordion Fold Card is apparently what it is called. I didn't have a die to cut out the sentiment, so I used the circles from the stylish shapes dies to cut the top of the sentiment and then my trimmer for the sides.

  • Stamps: Legendary Ride
  • Ink: Memento Black
  • Card: Basic Black, Basic White, Pumpkin Pie, Grey Granite, Silver Foil and Ready to Ride DSP (currently on the clearance rack)
  • Tools: Legendary Ride Dies, Stylish Shapes Dies as well as Metal Plate 3D embossing folder with a Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine
  • Embellishments: Dimensionals, Adhesive Backed Studs (retired)

ESAD New Annual Catalogue Blog Hop

Welcome to another ESAD blog hop!
I am so lucky to be in this group of talented demonstrators (friends) and I hope that you enjoy all our projects using products from the New 2024-2025 Annual Catalogue.

You have either started with myself or come around from Kathryn's page

To be perfectly honest... I organized this blog hop a couple of weeks ago and thought ah I have plenty of time to make something.... well it is Saturday afternoon that I am writing this and I have run out of time... you see I have been at the hospital all morning with my daughter and her dislocated pinky finger from "training" at basketball, and not even her own team. These things happen and I will not post a picture here as I nearly vomited when I saw it before I took her to hospital. Anyway I will hopefully whip something up with the gorgeous new products from the new annual catty tonight....

Then I thought...hmmmm I will recreate a recent card that I have made....
and i did...

This card was re-made in record time and I am loving Petunia Pop at the moment...
I had purchased this bundle in pre-order but hadn't used it until a couple of weeks ago.
I need to invest in some of the new in colour stampin blends so I can make everything all matchy matchy.

  • Stamps: Attention Shoppers
  • Ink:  Memento Black & Petunia Pop
  • Card: Basic White, Petunia Pop, Unbound Beauty DSP, Petunia Pop Glimmer Paper, Silver Foil Sheets
  • Tools: Attention Shoppers Dies with a Stampin' Cut and Emboss machine. Pretty Peacock, Daffodil Delight, Highland Heather (and I did use retired Rococo Rose) Stampin Blends
  • Embellishments: - In Colour resin dots and Stampin' Dimensionals

Global Design Project #GDP445

My Son is doing his confirmation on the weekend and I needed to make a card for his special sponsor. These colours are gorgeous and I wanted to crack into a new bundle that I have been playing with.

Using the Zinnia 3d embossing folder on the background just finishes this card off nicely. I am sure that his sponsor will love it.... I will post a picture on Sunday of them together.
It is very subtle but the rhinestones are actually coloured with a Petal Pink Stampin Blend.

  • Stamps: Unbounded Love and Flowers of Beauty
  • Ink: Pretty Peacock and Moody Mauve
  • Card: Basic White Thick, Basic White, Pretty Peacock, Petal Pink and Thoughtful Designs Specialty Designer Series Paper
  • Tools: Unbounded Love and Flowers of Beauty Dies as well as Zinnia 3D embossing folder with a Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine, Dark Petal Pink Stampin Blend
  • Embellishments: Dimensionals, Rhinestones and White twine
