Social Stamping "Oh 2020"

Hello and welcome to the monthly Social Stamping Hop.

My friend Kelly Kent is the mastermind behind this and she put the group together to share our creations in a time where we were all social distancing and many were in isolation. It was very unnerving time for a lot of people as some have medical issues and loved ones who were compromised and can not afford to get ill. Creating is my sanity as I am a pretty social person and these past few months were a little bit of a struggle.

Life in 2020 has been a "Challenge" for our family. I had taken the last two hops off to have some time to grieve the loss of my beautiful mum. Yes, so I can not wait to see the back of 2020.

You have come from Kelly herself

So here is the next monthly theme that Kelly has set for us and it is "Oh 2020"

I was a little stumped on what I was going to do for this hop but I had actually started to scrapbook a couple of pages of mum using some new product from the Jan-June Mini that I just had to use them for this hop..... I bawled my eyes out the whole time making these pages..
The photo to the left is the last photo she had taken, she was gone 1 1/2 weeks later.

Her last wishes were to have Hydrangeas at her funeral... Well you can now understand the sadness when I opened the new Mini for next year to find a whole suite of them..... (but happy they were in there) I miss her so, so much, so if your mum is still around squeeze her ever so tightly and always tell her that you love her!

    Stamping Pals #SP10

I have had my pre-order for the new upcoming catalogue arrive and I am so in love with the Hydrangea Suite so I used the sketch challenge below to make my card.

Such as pretty suite of colours and everything just matches perfectly together.

This sketch and the pretty designer series papers made this card come together so easily. I used two strips of the papers together to make the background and embossed with the subtle folder for a slight textured background. The leaves were stamped with the shadow stamp first in old olive then I cut the outline with the dies and used a sponge dauber to add colour to make the veins of the leaves stand out. The actual Hydrangea flower is designer series paper also but cut with the flower die. So so pretty. I think that you will see a lot of future cards and a scrapping page coming soon!

    • Stamps: Hydrangea Haven
    • Ink: Versamark, Old Olive and Mossy Meadow
    • Card: Whisper White, Basic Black, Highland Heather and Hydrangea Hill Designer Series Paper
    • Tools: Hydrangea Dies and Subtle Embossing folder with a Stampin' Cut and Emboss Machine & White embossing powder and a heat tool
    • Embellishments: Dimensionals, Gorgeous Grape Sheer Ribbon & Pastel Pearls

Freshly Brewed Projects - Saleabration Sneak Peek

My friend Leonie from Stamp a latté has a weekly hop going and I am trying to get myself together to join in but the weeks seem to fly by... today is no different but her theme is Saleabration Sneak Peek and I am currently having a little play with my Saleabration items so I thought I would join in.

I have actually used two items from the upcoming saleabration catalogue can you pick what they are?

I used the gorgeous A Touch of Ink Stampset and the Oh So Ombre paper.

With the butterfly I sponge daubered the Gorgeous Grape and Magenta Madness on the background stamp, stamped it over the black outlined image and then my favourite thing to do... I fussy cut it out...

The sentiment was also stamped on the same ombre paper that was left over from the background and mounted up with dimensionals over the scrolled die cut magenta piece (this has also been daubered around the outside with the Gorgeous Grape)

The last thing I did was coloured the clear epoxy droplets with the Highland Heather Dark blend (closest to the Gorgeous Grape)

    • Stamps: A Touch of Ink
    • Ink: Granny Apple Green, Magenta Madness, Gorgeous Grape and Memento Black
    • Card: Whisper White, Granny Apple Green, Magenta Madness and Oh So Ombre DSP
    • Tools: Ornate Frames Dies with the Stampin' Cut and Emboss Machine and a Dark Highland Heather Stampin' Blend
    • Embellishments: Dimensionals & Clear Epoxy Droplets

    Papercraft Crew 404 #PCC404

I have had my pre-order for the new upcoming catalogue arrive and I was itching to find a challenge to have a play with it.

My prize patrol from our recent On Stage conference was the gorgeous Always in My Heart Stampset. I grabbed the dies, ribbon and papers to go with it and created this card.

My Gosh the pink foils in this suite are stunning! I stamped off the leaves and the flower image and did tone on tone stamping. The ribbon is behind the sentiment but ruffled to add a bit of texture along with the subtle folder in the very background.

    • Stamps: Always in My Heart
    • Ink: Versamark, Granny Apple Green and Rococo Rose
    • Card: Whisper White, Basic Black and Love You Always Foil Sheets
    • Tools: Floral Heart Dies and Subtle Embossing folder with a Stampin' Cut and Emboss Machine & White embossing powder and a heat tool
    • Embellishments: Dimensionals & Elegant Faceted Gems
