Social Stamping - Celebrate

Hello and welcome to the now monthly Social Stamping Hop.

My friend Kelly Kent is the mastermind behind this and she put the group together to share our creations in a time where we were all social distancing and many were in isolation. It was very unnerving time for a lot of people as some have medical issues and loved ones who are compromised and can not afford to get ill. Creating is my sanity at the moment as I am a pretty social person and these past few months were a little bit of a struggle.

Life continues to be extremely busy in the Wilson household.
My daughter received her first Holy Communion a couple of weeks ago and the strange thing was only 4 families per mass were allowed to attend. They still have social distancing in place and every second pew is blocked off to the public. The other thing that is still really in place is the strict one spectator per player for netball and basketball which makes it difficult to take your second child in or sit in the car and not watch your other child.... very difficult times.....

You have come from my lovely friend Liz this month

So here is the next monthly theme that Kelly has set for us and it is "Celebrate"

I haven't had alot of time this week and this hop snuck right up on me so I made a quick card to feature in the hop.

A congratulations card is a way of celebrating..... an engagement, a wedding, a new job, anything really!

I am not that good at vintage style cards and I feel that I have so so much room for improvement. I think my problem is I try to put too much on them and it becomes a little busy but hey, someone will like this card.

  • Stamps: Tasteful Touches and Here's a Card
  • Ink: Crumb Cake, Mossy Meadow, Memento and Versamark
  • Card: Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Basic Black, Mossy Meadow In Good Taste DSP and Vellum
  • Tools: Fabulous Florals, Hippo Happiness Dies as well as Tasteful Textures Embossing folder with a Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine, Highland Heather, Magenta Madness and Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blends and Copper Embossing Powder
  • Embellishments: Dimensionals

Over to Siobhan to check out her project.

South Pacific Themed Christmas

 Just a quick post today.

A couple of weeks ago I was contacted by the lovely Donna at Stampin' Up! in Sydney to make a little project for the South Pacific Facebook page. I immediately said yes! (As you do) and then thought hmmmmm a Christmas project with no snow, I don't have that many Christmas Stampsets eeeeekkk.... (It needed to be suited to the South Pacific!!)

I put my thinking cap on and voila here is what I made.

I used the gorgeous Most Wonderful Time product Medley for this card and it was a bit of a bonus as it carried over from last years Christmas Catalogue! I love the DSP and that it is so versatile that you can cut it up and pop the gifts under your stamped and die cut Christmas Tree. The pop of gold with the star for the top of the tree just finishes it off nicely.... and did you notice that there is a nice sunny "hot" day outside as here in the South Pacific it is summer at Christmas and its usually quite a warm day... food, prezzies, company and a bit of swimming..... What do you think?

  • Stamps: Most Wonderful Time Stamp Set
  • Ink: Mossy Meadow, Versamark, Daffodil Delight, Balmy Blue and Old Olive
  • Card: Whisper White, Basic Black, Old Olive, Gold Foil, In, Good Taste and Most Wonderful Time DSP
  • Tools: Most Wonderful Time Dies as well as Brick & Mortar Embossing folder with a Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine and foam brayers
  • Embellishments: Dimensionals, Red Rhinestone Basic Jewels

Colour INKspiration 84 #CI84

Welcome to Colour Inkspiration!

What is Colour INKspiraton? – a Facebook based bi-monthly colour challenge.
Anyone with Facebook can join in.  You don’t need a blog and you don’t need to be a demonstrator.
I have joined in these challenges and love them as Colour challenges for me are actually a real challenge.
Click here to join the Facebook page which now has over 2200 members and see what it’s all about.

Here’s some of the basic details about the challenge –
The Colour INKspiration Crew! consists of a team of talented Aussie and NZ Stampin’ Up! ® Demonstrators that create projects based on Pinterest inspired colour swatches.
Every second and fourth Wednesday of the month at 7 pm (AEDT), a new colour swatch will be uploaded to the Facebook Colour INKspiration Group and the Colour INKspiration Crew will get the ball rolling by providing inspiration for each challenge with a post on their blogs.
Then you have a 12 day period to upload your own creations using the colours provided.
If you have a blog, feel free to link back to it, but all entries will be via Facebook.  The design team will select 5 projects to be ‘design team picks’ and then the Facebook group will select an overall winner from this shortlist.

Using all of the colours this fortnight I went for a bit of a CAS card.

I just had to put a heart on this card to go with the sentiment.
The flowers around the edge of the heart give it a bit of shape and texture to the card.

  • Stamps: Bloom & Grow
  • Ink: Memento & Magenta Madness
  • Card: Whisper White and Vellum
  • Tools: Stitched Hearts & Budding Blooms Dies as well as Subtle Textile Embossing folder with a Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine, Just Jade, Magenta Madness, Rich Razzleberry and Rococo Rose Stampin' Blends and a Garden Green Stampin' Write Marker
  • Embellishments: Dimensionals, In Colour Enamel Dots and Wink of Stella

Freshly Brewed Projects - Shapes

My friend Leonie from Stamp a latté has a weekly hop going and I have just been so flat out to join in... today is no different but her theme was Ways with Shapes and I have just received the right triangle bundle and had a little play with it so I used one of the projects that I made for this hop.

These triangles have been cut and with the smaller dies they have been cut again and placed inside of each other.... I still have the pieces from the centres of all these triangles to use on another project.

A simple yet effective way to use up scraps of card on a card front.

  • Stamps: All Things Fabulous
  • Ink: Versamark
  • Card: Whisper White, Poppy Parade, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green, Bermuda Bay, Highland Heather and Basic Black
  • Tools: Tasteful Textile 3d Embossing folder as well as the Stitched Triangle Dies with the Stampin' Cut and Emboss Machine and White Stampin' Emboss Powder with a heat tool
  • Embellishments: Dimensionals

Just Add Ink #JAI519 & Paper Craft Crew Challenges #PCC389

&

Another week where two challenges combined I could come up with a pretty card as the colours in the Just Add Ink Challenge and the sketch for Paper Craft Crew worked so well together.

With such soft colours this week for Just Add Ink I couldn't resist the Prized Peony Stampset. I Stamped in the Purple Posy (retired) ink for the base of the flowers and coloured with the Seaside Spray and Purple Posy Stampin' Blends. Doing it this way the flowers don't have a hard outline so it softens the whole overall look. I was lucky with the Playing with Patterns Designer Series Paper as it had the perfect background for the main card amongst the great paper patterns in the stack.

  • Stamps: Prized Peony
  • Ink: Purple Posy and Misty Moonlight
  • Card: Whisper White, Purple Posy, Misty Moonlight, Seaside Spray and Playing with Patterns DSP
  • Tools: Tasteful Textile 3d Embossing folder as well as the Peony Dies with the Stampin' Cut and Emboss Machine, Seaside Spray, Purple Posy and colour lifter Stampin' Blends
  • Embellishments: Dimensionals and Misty Moonlight Ribbon

Freshly Made Sketches #FMS449 & CAS Colours & Sketches #384

This week I found a great sketch with Freshly Made Sketches

and

for CAS Colours and Sketches is a colour challenge

To make this great "Let's celebrate You!" card

I did receive my new The Right Triangle Bundle this week and this sketch made me have a play with it and continue on with the Triangle theme!!
I am absolutely loving it and can not wait to play a bit more  along with my new Stampin' Cut and Emboss Machine!

Using Black under the smaller Pool Party Triangle sets off the whole cluster of Triangles and adding a Sunflower in Daffodil Delight opposite the smaller Daffodil Triangle just balances the whole card out.

  • Stampset: The Right Triangle and Celebrate Sunflowers
  • Ink: Memento, Daffodil Delight, Pool Party and Highland Heather
  • Card: Whisper White, Pool Party, Highland Heather, Daffodil Delight and Basic Black
  • Tools: Sunflowers & Stitched Triangles Dies along with Dainty Diamonds Embossing Folder with a Stampin' Cut and Emboss Machine, Daffodil Delight and Crumb Cake Stampin' Blends
  • Embellishments:  Dimensionals and Elegant Faceted Gems

Another gorgeous combo of colours again this fortnight!

I pulled out the gorgeous Flowers For Every Season DSP and the most gorgeous Sunflower Paper and thought that I just needed to use it for my background!

I am still loving using the Boho Indigo Medley and you don't have to use it with the blues so I used it with this great colour combo.

Adding a little bit of texture to the pots makes them stand out better on this card.
    Pretty....

    • Stamps: So Sentimental
    • Ink: Versamark
    • Card: Whisper White, Basic Black, Mossy Meadow and Flowers for Every Season DSP
    • Tools: Stitched So Sweetly & Boho Indigo Dies as well as Subtle and Tasteful Textile Embossing folders with a die cutting/ embossing machine and White Stampin Emboss Powder with a Heat Tool
    • Embellishments: Dimensionals

I just want to take a moment to thank the talented Bronwyn Eastley for creating this great group of awesome stampers and including myself in it.
Bronwyn has recently stepped down from the Colour INKspiration Crew and I wish her all the best xx.

Paper Craft Crew Challenge 387 #PPC387

I saw this sketch and thought hmmmm - my daughter is receiving her First Holy Communion next weekend so I needed to make her a card for it.

    This is what I made.

It is hard to make any type of religious cards but these sets along with the sketch make it that bit easier to come up with something.

I stamped and embossed the cross and fussy cut it out (as there isn't a die for this) The tasteful textile embossing folder adds that touch of texture to the background of the card so it doesn't have too much white space. I think the copper just adds that little bit of elegance to the finished card.

I have kept all my religious stampsets for occasions such as this as they have great sentiment stamps in them.
    • Stamps: His Love & Inspired Events (retired)
    • Ink: Versamark, Highland Heather
    • Card: Whisper White, Purple Posy & Copper Foil
    • Tools: Butterfly Beauty Thinlets Dies & Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder with a Die Cutting Machine, Copper embossing powder and a heat tool
    • Embellishments: Dimensionals

Fab Friday 195 #Fabfri195 and CAS Colours & Sketches #382

    Fab Friday Challenge
This week is a great sketch.

    and

for CAS Colours and Sketches is a colour challenge

I have made a card that I will be giving to someone that has crossed my path a few times now.
This lady and I had a little chat this morning and a few tears were shed as it was about our beautiful mums. I made this card for her as I really appreciate that she took the time to talk to me and being so far away from my mum it was nice.

I had a totally different idea in my head where I was wanting to go with this card but it just didn't seem to work how I had planned. Does this ever happen to you? It happens to me quite often. I finally settled on this layout and the card in real life is really quite pretty.

    • Stampset: Beautiful Friendship and sentiment from Celebrate Sunflowers
    • Ink: Terracotta Tile, Blushing Bride, Garden Green and Versamark
    • Card: Whisper White, Terracotta Tile, Blushing Bride, Garden Green, Basic Black and Shimmery White
    • Tools: Fabulous Florals and Stitched Rectangles Dies with a Die Cutting Machine, White Embossing Powder with a heat tool
    • Embellishments:  Dimensionals
